At the Disability Network West Michigan’s Inaugural “Welcome Home” Veterans Dinner last Tuesday, Bill Johanson, shown, was the speaker and shared some of his Vietnam infantryman and AFVN broadcasting experiences.  The event attracted almost 100 military veterans and spouses/guests.  State reps/ Rotarians Holly Hughes and Marcia Hovey-Wright attended the USS Silversides Submarine Museum tribute to vets as did Disability Network CEO Tamera Collier.

C’mon… Ring Them Bells

Salvation Army Development Director and prospective Club member Robin Henshaw, below, is “happy and excited to provide more information concerning bell-ringing opportunities for Rotarians. We have some very special events coming up and believe these opportunities are best suited for Club members.

“This year we have partnered with the Muskegon Lumberjacks for our 1st Annual Red Kettle Kick-Off on November 21 and Ugly Sweater Jersey night on December 19. We also have been provided the privilege of bell-ringing at all home games between November 21 and December 19. These kettle locations are indoors at L.C. Walker arena and are wonderful opportunities to support the philanthropic work of two long-standing cornerstones of the Muskegon community.

The Lumberjacks have generously provided tickets to the game for bell ringers so that they may enjoy cheering on the Lumberjacks! This bell-ringing shift would begin at 6:15 PM and would end around 8PM. The three games available are November 27, November 28 and December 19. Rotarians, as community leaders promote and raise awareness of the philanthropic spirit of our wonderful community.  Together, we aim to raise awareness of the collaborative nature and philanthropic work community leaders accomplish every day, on behalf of the Muskegon community. TSA believes these partnerships will provide aide to 1,000 more families throughout the year. Thank you for your support of TSA and the Muskegon community.  Blessings…”
